Terp Sauce – Our Guide To Cannabis Sap

Terp sauce isn’t something you’ll slather on an outback BBQ, but its name certainly lends itself to some confusion.

As we continue to explore the ever-evolving world of cannabis, our understanding of the risks and benefits — and how to better utilize them begin to surface. While cannabis has been enjoyed in extracted forms for thousands of years before its prohibition in the 1880s, we’re just now beginning to experiment with high potency concentrates.

With this in mind, we’ve come a long way in the past decade, and with that, a slew of cannabis concentrate and extracted products have come to market; some better than others.

One notable product that always comes to mind is terp sauce. A clean and tasty concentrate, this extract is hailed as a favorite among cannabis enthusiasts for its high terpene and THC content.

What is Terp Sauce?

Terp Sauce is one of many cannabis concentrates, but what stands out about this one is that it uses fresh, not dried bud — and it places high attention to detail on terpene output. Compared to other extracts that don’t regard or place less of an emphasis on terpene content, Terp Sauce is hands-down the best tasting and smelling concentrate out there.

This may have to do with the fact that it tests at around 60% terpenes and 40% cannabinoids. Terpenes are the compounds responsible for smell and taste, and cannabinoids are responsible for the mental and physical sensations experienced when under the influence of marijuana.

If you like to live life on the edge and are looking for a more intense adventure — you can always throw some THC Diamonds into the mix — which are 99% THC crystalline structures.

What are Terpenes?

When you go to the dispensary and the budtender lets you take a whiff, what you’re smelling are the terpenes of the cannabis plant. Many strong-smelling plants, flowers, and spices are loaded with terpenes including pine trees, menthol, eucalyptus, and black pepper to name a few.

Terpenes are formed to help protect the plant from predators and to lure in pollinators and can range in smell from earthy, musky, skunky, sweet, citrus, berry, and cheese.

So far, scientists have discovered that cannabis has over 200 identifiable terpenes — and each strain has its own distinctive terpene composition. Subsequently, most marijuana strains are named after a parent strain that was more than likely determined by the way it smelled or tasted.

As we dive deeper into our guide to Terp Sauce, you should be aware of the fact that terpenes do more than just smell good — they’re considered essential workers that are needed to generate the entourage effect.

The Entourage Effect

The more we explore and evolve our understanding of cannabis, the better suited we become at applying it in a therapeutic way that improves the lives of others. One such discovery is the theory that consuming full-spectrum cannabis products (products that contain the full-spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in the plant), provides benefits and advantages that consuming isolate or broad-spectrum marijuana products don’t. This is better known as the entourage effect

In 2019, a study was conducted to explore entourage effect claims further by determining if there was in fact, a synergistic and therapeutic effect when using a full-spectrum of compounds compared to broad or isolated products. The findings supported the entourage effect theory, and while there has been a lot of studies done regarding its validity — there are still naysayers who feel it should be considered a hypothesis and not scientific fact.

Regardless of what the skeptics think, there is a lot of science highlighting just how and why using full-spectrum products like Terp Sauce could offer additional advantages other cannabis concentrates cannot.

Terp Sauce – What’s Unique About It?

What sets Terp Sauce apart from the rest is in how it’s made, how it tastes, how it smells — while still retaining a high THC profile. Other concentrates use dried as opposed to fresh bud, and most concentrates don’t retain or put an emphasis on preserving terpenes; a crucial ingredient needed for triggering the entourage effect.

Terp Sauce is the triple threat: it tastes and smells great, offers more therapeutic benefit, and it will get you extremely high.

How Exactly Is Terp Sauce Made?

Terp Sauce is made using high-quality marijuana strains that produce the highest cannabinoid and terpene content. Once they are grown and harvested — the plant is flash-frozen before being cured and extracted with butane. This method has proven to be the most effective for preserving terpenes and gently separating the THCA (the acid form of THC) from the rest of the plant.

These THCA crystals are harvested and made into THC Diamonds that can be added into Terp Sauce; transforming it into an ultra-potent Diamond Sauce.

After it’s extracted, the butane needs to be delicately purged from the rest of the material using low-heat to “gas it off.”

When the extract is still viscous, it’s poured into a mason jar and kept in an environment that is slightly above room temperature. As the pressure builds up inside the container, the terpenes need to be separated and purged from the THCA crystals — which can take upwards of 2-3 weeks. The actual purge process for terpenes takes about 60 hours and 72 hours for the THCA crystals.

After the purge, crystals and terpenes are reunited and put into a UV-proof jar until it turns into a rich, thick, Terp Sauce. Most quality-made Terp Sauces will consist of about 30%-50% cannabinoids.

Smoking Terp Sauce – How Do You Do It?

The easiest part of the journey is smoking it. The beauty with Terp Sauce is that it can be enjoyed in a vaporizer, on a dab rig — or it can be added on top of a bowl, joint, pipe, or bong to elevate your sessions.

Making Terp Sauce can be time-consuming and requires a lot of expertise to make properly, but it’s incredibly easy to enjoy. The hardest part about smoking Terp Sauce is limiting yourself. We understand it smells and tastes amazing, just try not to overdo it.

Can Terp Sauce Get You High?

terp sauce definition

Most definitely. Terp Sauce is a very potent cannabis concentrate that is loaded with THC — especially if THC Diamonds are added. Just because it tastes and smells amazing doesn’t make it any less potent than other cannabis concentrates on the market.

Considering Terp Sauce is brimming with THC (cannabinoid responsible for feeling mentally high), it’s advisable to be mindful of what your limits and tolerance levels are. If you’re unsure — start with a very small amount and work your way up; waiting several minutes in between hits.

Concluding Thoughts on Terp Sauce

All in all, well-crafted Terp Sauce offers users a way to mentally, physically, and emotionally escape using a highly concentrated cannabis product that not only smells amazing but tastes amazing.

Try some yourself the next time you’re up for a flavour-packed experience that’s sure to get you high!
